Red Buckeye

Here is a hummingbird-friendly, baby red buckeye tree planted dormant last fall in a shady spot. I’m eager to see the leaves and even more eager for flowers but I understand patience is a necessity for this particular tree.

redbuckEither lack of water or extreme cold burned the top tip. It’s dry and crispy. A few days after taking this photo, the side buds are doing well and starting swell.
